Camping and Outdoor
Committee
|

|
Camping is part of what makes
Scouting fun: getting the youth into the outdoors so they can
put their training to work.
The Camping Committee is responsible to:
- Develop and run the district Cub Day Camps
- Encourage participation in short term and long term Cub
Camping, such as Fun with Son and Cub Adventure Camp
- Provide opportunities for district-wide camping events and
competitions, such as a Boy Scout Klondike Derby or Camporee
- Encourage Boy Scout unit camping and attendance at long
term camp, where the Scouting program can really be
developed
- Encourage attendance at various high adventure
opportunities, e.g.
Philmont and
Sea Base
- Provide information on camping opportunities and methods
to camp safely (e.g.,
Storm and Lightning Safety Procedures).
We encourage your
participation.

| "Far better it is to dare mighty things,
to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than
to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor
suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows
not victory nor defeat."

-- Theodore Roosevelt, 1858 - 1919. President of the
United States,
(Founding Member of the National Council, Boy Scouts of
America)
