The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is one of the largest youth
organizations in the United States.
The purpose of the BSA is to provide an educational
program for youth and young adults to build character and
skills, to train them in responsibilities of participating
citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.
There are many branches in Scouting at the
district level: Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity
Scouting and Venturing. There are two other branches,
Exploring and Learning for Life, which are operated at the council
level. Click on the links below to learn more about any
specific program. Visit our Unit
Directory page for locations of all the Units in our district.

Tiger
Cubs -- This is a program for first grade boys and
their adult partners that stresses shared leadership,
learning about the community, and family understanding.
The family teams meet for family activities. They also
meet with other teams twice a month for Tiger Cub den
activities and once a month with their Cub Scout Pack.
As members of the pack, they participate in Cub Scout pack
activities. |
 |
Cub
Scouts -- This is a family and home centered program
for boys in grades 2 through 5 that focuses on ethical
decision-making while building confidence and skills from
games, crafts, and activities working with family members
and with other youth in a sharing environment. Tiger
Cubs participate with Cub Scout packs. Older Cubs
participate in more advanced activities to prepare them to
become Boy Scouts. The youth all participate in dens
(groups of 5 to 10 Cubs), and several dens are grouped into
a Cub Scout pack. |
 |
Boy
Scouts -- This is a program for boys 11 through 17
that focuses on vigorous outdoor programs and peer group
leadership with the counsel and guidance of an adult
Scoutmaster. It endeavors to develop American citizens
who are physically, mentally, and emotionally fit; have a
high degree of self-reliance, have strong personal values
based on religious concepts, and have the desire and skills
to help others.
|
 |
Varsity
Scouting -- This is a program for young men 14
through 17 built around five fields of emphasis ‑
advancement, high adventure, personal development, service,
and special programs. It provides options for young
men who are looking for rugged high adventure or challenging
sporting activities and still want to be a part of a
Scouting program that offers the advancement and values of
the Boy Scouts of America. |
 |
Venturing
-- This is a program for young men and women who are 14 to
20 years of age to provide positive experiences through
exciting and meaningful activities to help youth pursue
special interests, grow, and become good citizens. It
includes challenging high-adventure activities, sports, and
hobbies for teenagers that help them develop leadership
skills, provide opportunities to teach others, and give them
an opportunity to learn and grow in a supporting, caring,
and fun environment.
