| The objective of this page is to
enable leaders to help other leaders by submitting tips and advice
that they've learned over time for others to benefit from.
This can include things like special outings or camping
locations in and out of the district, special contacts or
procedures to smooth the way on various trips and outings,
lessons learned from any given event, tips and materials for
setting up and conducting various meetings or gatherings more
effectively, what to take with you as a leader to ensure you're
prepared for the routine (and not so routine) surprises that can
occur on outings, good resources for equipment and supplies, etc.
The content on this page will be as varied as your
imaginations and experiences. You tell us what you think
should be here or what you want to be here. Just send your
ideas and requests to
the
Webmaster.
A wealth of resources, products and help is
provided by the Dan Beard council. They have two locations
to serve you. See the table below for contact info and maps.

Roundtables
One of the best ways for
both new and experienced leaders to get the help they need and stay
abreast of developments in the district is to attend the monthly
Roundtable meetings, held the second Wednesday of each month from
7:00 – 9:30PM in the cafeteria at:
Butler Tech (D. Russell Lee Vocational
Center)
3603 Hamilton Middletown Rd. (Rte. 4)
Hamilton, OH 45011
A short general
meeting is held first for all attending, and then we separate into
two different meetings – one for the Cub Scout leaders and one for
the Boy Scout leaders. (Check the Events
Calendar for location changes or any specific instructions for
each meeting.)
Following are the lists of topics to be
covered in each Cub Scout Leaders Roundtable and Boy Scout Leaders
Roundtable this year:

This book is an excellent resource to identify
camping opportunities throughout the entire United States. Every
Boy Scout Camp is identified with a list of facilities,
activities, and contact information. In addition, military bases
that are open to Scouts are also identified with the same
information. This book will identify the camping opportunities to
allow you to achieve your dream camping experiences.
Flag Retirement Ceremonies
Here are links to ideas and examples of Flag
Retirement Ceremonies that unit leaders can use to involve their
Scouts in honoring our flag and our nation’s heritage and to teach
our youth more of our traditions and procedures.
